The Carroll Township Authority is a sanitary sewer collection system providing service to residential customers and 45 commercial customers. The Authority does not regulate private on-lot systems outisde our service area. All Authority vehicles are blue in color and clearly marked with the following letters; CTA, and all Authority employees carry proper identification.
The Authority has no treatment plant, it is a collection system, and our sewage is treated by both the Valley Sewage Authortyl +/- 0.1 MGD, and the Municipal Authority of the City of Monongahela, +/-0.4 MGD.
The collection system is comprised of 15 major pump stations, 45 miles of sanitary sewers and manholes.
Permits:
All sewage taps for the public sewers require the payment of a tap-in fee permit from the Authority. The cost of a sewage tap is $2400 per EDU (Equivalent Dwelling Unit) or One (1) EDU for residential customers. Commercial tap-in fees are based on estimated usage of 60,000 gallons per year / per EDU
The Carooll Township Authority is under a Tap Control Plan with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. A limited number of taps, both residential and commercial, are normally available each year. Contact the Authority office on availability and please plan ahead.
